Kate Bohan is an acclaimed and award-winning Chinese-American filmmaker, writer, director, and producer. She began her journey in filmmaking in 2016, earning recognition for her exceptional screenwriting and directing skills. In 1988, after receiving a BFA from the Beijing Broadcasting Institute where she majored in broadcasting, hosting, and journalism, Kate moved to Los Angeles from China with her family to follow her passion for film.

Her first feature film, Kayla (2018), received multiple awards from prestigious film festivals and gained national recognition, establishing her as a talented filmmaker. In 2020, she wrote, directed, and produced her second feature film, Harper, which enjoyed a successful theatrical run in Los Angeles and qualified for the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. Harper also won a Gold Remi Award at the 55th Houston International Film Festival and became a Semi-Finalist in the Oscar-certified Flicker Rhode Island International Film Festival. Since its global release in Summer 2022, Harper has been a resounding success.

Kate Bohan's dedication to her craft and her ability to infuse her films with profound emotional depth have set her apart in the film industry.
